The East Kowloon Line was included in the original proposal for Hong Kong's Mass Transit Railway (MTR) in 1967. This three-station route is based on the 1970 "Initial System" proposal. It runs from Rumsey Station Turn Back Siding to Hung Hom Station (interchange with East Rail Line), and remained largely forgotten for a few years until now.
